Man Gets DWI on Lawn Mower

LEXINGTON PARK - 3/17/2008

Shortly after 10 p.m. on Saturday, March 15, a St. Mary’s Sheriff’s Deputy stopped a man riding a lawn tractor on Great Mils Road in Lexington Park near Saratoga Drive.

The man, Robert Broussard, 58 of Lexington Park, was issued field sobriety tests and shortly after placed under arrest.

They Don't Play Around in St. Marys
He also got charged with operating an unregistered vehicle, operating uninsured vehicle, and driving without a license along with DUI and DWI. I guess he had his seatbelt on.

WTH!!! I never knew you had to register a lawn mower as being a type of vehicle, and insure it like you would a car. Dam I better hurry and get mine registered before lawn season starts. Cause I like to have a drink while I cut my lawn during the summer. Will I need to register my push mower too? Does the MVA have special licenses you need to apply for when you operate you riding lawnmower? Are there not enough things to do for our police that they need to pull over a man driving a lawnmower? I would like to know the full story not part of it. What was he doing that merited him being pulled over in the first place? Was he endangering the lives of other's?

I can relate.
I used to drive around intoxicated on a lawnmower when I was a homeless rodeo clown but not anymore. Now I am a world class magician !

You would know exactly why he was stopped if you were the one who hit him with your car. He is operating a MOTOR VEHICLE on the roadway....There is no insurance that covers that vehicle...That is why we already pay for uninsured motorist in our premiums in this State. Next time, maybe he'll stumble to get the next bottle.

HA HA ITS ABOUT TIME
For those of you who don't know, this over-grown ** * normally rides his bike around the south end of the county, Lex park to Ridge. I personally denied him access to a bar I used to work at for being an ass at the door. He must have upgraded to a riding mower. Drunk is drunk no matter if you are walking, riding or driving.
