Expect Significant Delays at Nice Bridge

WORK TO RESULT IN TEMPORARY LANE CLOSURES AND TRUCK RESTRICTIONS ON NICE BRIDGE Stay Alert So No One Gets Hurt! . WHAT: Weather permitting, one lane of the Harry W. Nice Memorial Bridge (US 301) will be closed to traffic temporarily. Traffic will alternate in the open lane. WHEN: Beginning Monday, Feb. 25 and continuing for 6-8 weeks: Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily WHY: Crews will be installing cable and conduit across the bridge. Trucks greater than 11-feet wide will not be permitted to cross the bridge during these times. Every effort will be made to cross all vehicles exceeding 11-feet wide between 8 and 8:30 a.m. and 3 and 3:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday. ~*~ Drivers of vehicles exceeding the width restriction must call 301-259-4444 to receive approval and schedule an escort appointment time. Calls must be made 24 hours prior to arrival at the bridge and will only be accepted between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. Monday through Thursday. Dynamic-message signs will advise motorists of traffic information. Please drive with caution and obey posted-speed limits and traffic-control devices, especially when traveling through work zones. The Maryland Transportation Authority is an independent State agency that finances, owns and operates the State’s seven toll facilities. The Authority’s eight Members, appointed by the Governor with consent of the State Senate, serve as the agency’s policy-setting and governing body.
