At 1 a.m. this morning, a male driver was seriously hurt in a crash on Route 235 near the Great Mills Road intersection.

 Police and rescue volunteers responded to find a pickup truck and a van had collided.

 Officials radioed for a helicopter transport to a regional trauma center, but the weather prevented emergency helicopters from flying last night.

 The injured man was taken to St. Mary’s Hospital by Lexington Park Volunteer Rescue Squad ambulance.
