On Jan 7, the Charles County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a sexual assault. Investigation revealed a teenage boy was sexually assaulted by Michael Thomas Bilotti, 44, of Potomac Heights. Bilotti was arrested without incident Jan. 11 and charged with a third-degree sex offense, fourth-degree burglary, perverted practices, sexual solicitation of a minor and possession of child pornography.

After the arrest, detectives learned Bilotti had an open arrest warrant in Michigan from 2003 and believe he fled to avoid prosecution. Authorities from Michigan agreed to extradite him once local charges have been satisfied.

Bilotti is being held at the Charles County Detention Center on a $250,000 bond. The Sheriff’s Office is attempting to identify any additional victims who may have had contact with Bilotti.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Charles County Sheriff’s Office at 301-932-2222 or Det. K. Moody at 301-609-6514 or Charles County Crime Solvers at 1-866-411-TIPS.
