Police Say Drunk Man Violently Shook Teen Girl

Shortly after 8 p.m. Jan. 10, St. Mary’s Deputy Cathcart was called to a residence in Leonardtown, for a domestic disturbance. Subsequent investigation revealed the suspect, Mark Andrew Alvey Sr., 42, of Leonardtown, was intoxicated and assaulted the 14-year-old victim by grabbing her arms and violently shaking her, police say. Alvey was placed under arrest and charged with Child Abuse and Assault Second Degree. He was transported to the Detention Center pending a bond hearing before the District Court Commissioner. |
