At 5:51 p.m. Dec. 12, Calvert Deputy Mark Robshaw attempted a traffic stop on a vehicle whose driver was suspected of being under the influence of alcohol.

The driver, later identified as Joanna Gawlik, 43 of Lusby, drove to her home and attempted to shut the garage door on the officer.

After placing Gawlik under arrest for DUI, she became disorderly and kicked the window of Dep. Robshaw’s patrol vehicle, causing $350 in damage.

Gawlik also assaulted Correctional Officer Collette Bivens at the Calvert County Detention Center by kicking her in the leg, police say.

Gawlik is charged with DUI, second degree assault, destruction of property, resisting arrest and disorderly conduct.
