The younger brother of Alyson M. Purvis, 17, who was killed in a crash on Rt. 4 in Owings last Monday, has also died from his injuries sustained in the crash. The Washington Post is reporting that 14-year-old Ryan J. Purvis succumbed to his injured while being treated at Baltimore Shock Truama. Police say Alyson Purvis was attempting to travel across the southbound lanes of MD Rt. 4 from Briscoes Turn Road on Nov. 5 when she apparently failed to yield to a 2005 Isuzu Box truck. The Isuzu truck struck the driver’s side of Purvis’ Dodge Caravan. Both vehicles came to a final rest within the grass median approximately 120 feet south of the intersection. The Isuzu truck overturned as it came to a final rest. Kathryn M. Singleton, 17, was the right front seat passenger and Marina M. Ybarra, 16, was the right rear passenger. Both sustained incapacitating injuries and were flown to the Prince George’s County Hospital (Shock Trauma). Both were listed in serious but stable condition. Ryan J. Purvis, 14, was the left rear passenger. He was flown to the University of Maryland’s Shock Trauma Unit. All occupants in the Dodge reside in Chesapeake Beach. All three occupants of the Isuzu truck sustained minor injuries and were transported to Calvert Memorial Hospital for treatment. |
