Hurricane Noel May Bring Wind and Water

The St. Mary’s Department of Public Safety is closely monitoring the weather in relation to Hurricane Noel.

The National Weather Service is predicting that St. Mary’s County will experience sustained winds on Saturday, around 25 to 35 MPH with possible gusts around 35 to 40 MPH. Winds will be higher on and near the water.

Be aware of minor coastal flooding during high tides on Saturday. High tides for the Southern Maryland Region will be around 9:48 AM and again at 9:33 PM. Winds continue to shift from a Northeastern direction to a Northern direction lowering the risk for coastal flooding.
