Two Children Flown From Crash on Rt. 5

Two children were flown from the scene of a two-car crash on Route 5 south of Leonardtown Monday evening. Volunteer Firefighters and Rescue Squad personnel were dispatched from Leonardtown and Lexington Park to the crash scene in Redgate shortly before 6 p.m. Two female children, 9 and 12 years old, sustained head and neck injuries in the head-on crash. Maryland State Police helicopter Trooper 2 flew both children to Children’s Hospital in Washington. See Slideshow below for images from the scene. |
