St. Mary's County Fair Starts Now

The 60th annual St. Mary’s County Fair is underway now. Gates opened at 3 p.m. today and official opening ceremonies are taking place this evening.

Don’t miss the 2007 St. Mary’s County Fair Thursday, September 20 through Sunday, September 23 at the St. Mary's County Fairgrounds Route 5 across from the Leonardtown High School.

Since 1947, country and city residents of Southern Maryland have enjoyed the St. Mary's County Fair.

This four day festival of non-stop agricultural exhibits and entertainment is sponsored by the St. Mary's County Fair Association, a non-profit volunteer group dedicated to the preservation of our agricultural heritage.

Competitions are open to all residents of Southern Maryland. Cash prizes and ribbons are awarded.

Thursday, Sept. 20, 2007, Opening Day

3 p.m. - Gates open to public
4 p.m. - Exhibit biddings open to public
5 p.m. - Carnival opens (ride all evening for one price)
5:30 p.m. - 4-H Livestock Judging Contest
6 p.m. - Pjppetone Rockers (FM)
6:30 p.m. - 4-H Goat Show
6:30 p.m. - Masters of the Chainsaw (FM)
7 p.m. - Official Opening (NewAUD)
7 p.m. - Color Guard by Cub Scout Pack 1203
7 p.m. - The Star Spangled Banner, Leonardtown Middle School Chorus
7 p.m. - Introduction of the Queen of Tolerance Court
7 p.m. - Welcome, by John Richards, President, St. Mary's County Fair Assoc.
7 p.m. - Crowning of the Queen of Tolerance
