At 4:08 a.m. Aug 24, Charles County Sheriff’s officers responded to a residence in the 2400 block of Rabbits Run Street in Waldorf when a resident reported her vehicle had been spray painted and her mailbox had been damaged.

Upon arrival, officers discovered other damaged vehicles and mailboxes in the Wexford Village neighborhood. The suspects vandalized about 16 vehicles, mailboxes and driveways by spray painting obscene phrases, drawings and other random markings.

They spray painted “KKK” and “Gay Pride” on four of the vehicles. The suspect(s) used black spray paint.

Because of the offensive nature of the crime, the Sheriff’s Office is investigating all these as hate crimes.

Anyone with any information about this incident is asked to contact the Charles County Sheriff’s office at 301-932-7777 or Charles County Crime Solvers at 1-866-411-TIPS. Officers P. Sady and S. Fulton are investigating.
