Ryken Knights clinch the WCAC

Tuesday April 24th, Ryken faced one of there toughest opponents in the WCAC. This would be there last home game of the season and Senior’s Night. The Knights 9-2 overall and 6-0 in the WCAC, faced off in one of there biggest games this year against DeMatha 6-1 in WCAC play. As people crowded the sidelines the Knights and Stags traded scores and the lead for the first quarter with it ending with Ryken up 5-4. By the end of the first half Ryken would net another five goals while giving up just one. The Knights would continue flooding the net in the second half to end the third quarter 15-6. By the time the seniors would finish their last regular season home game, they would defeat DeMatha 17-8. This would secure the number one spot in the WCAC for Ryken no matter what happens against O’Connell. Zack Angel lead the Knights with 5 goals and 5 assists, followed by Schmidt, Cook, and Spaulding with 3 goals, and Dunaway, Yates, and Goodley with a goal each. |
