St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office Deputies from both the Patrol Division and Special Operations Division conducted a “Pro-Active Law Enforcement Operation” on Saturday, March 3rd.

The operation was funded in part by a CSAFE grant obtained through the Governor’s Office. The operation took place in the CSAFE area of Lexington Park, which has been identified as a “High Crime Area”.

The operation led to the following:

Four (4) Criminal Arrests

Three (3) Traffic Arrests

Sixteen (16) Traffic Warnings

Eight (8) Traffic Citations

One (1) Alcohol Violation

Five (5) K-9 Scans

Three (3) Illegal Aliens identified (2 Mexican and 1 Guatemalan)

More than One Hundred and Twenty (120) street contacts.

Additional operations similar to this will continue throughout the year.
