Deputy James Stone responded to the St. Mary’s County Detention Center for the reported assault. The inmate (Age 21 of Washington D.C.) flooded his cell block and was being moved to another area of the Detention Center while a clean up was conducted. The inmate became aggressive and attempted to strike the Correctional Officers. His attempt was unsuccessful and when he was detained he spit in the face of one Correctional Officer and on the person of a second. Additional charges are pending a State’s Attorney Office review.
