Ryken School Bus Involved in Crash

At 3:55 p.m. on November 17, Charles County Sheriff’s officers responded to the 200 block of Charles Street in La Plata for the report of a school bus crash. Investigation revealed a St. Mary’s Ryken High School bus driven by Robert Benjamin Good, 70, of Swan Point was turning right from westbound Charles Street onto Washington Avenue when the left side of the back of the bus struck the right side of a Ford Taurus stopped at a red light. Both vehicles sustained minor damage. The driver of the Tarus, Robert Norman Tillett, 81, of La Plata, the 12 students on the bus and Good were not injured. Officer R. Taylor of the Traffic Operations Unit investigated.
