At approximately 10:30 p.m. on March 31, the Calvert Control Center received a phone call from someone at 3630 Harlequin Court in Huntingtown.  The caller advised that someone had been shot at this address and requested law enforcement and Emergency Medical Services.  A Calvert County Sheriff’s Office supervisor was the first on the scene and discovered one person, who appeared to be deceased, on the ground next to the driveway of the residence.

On April 1, 2013, the deceased was positively identified as Kevin Wayne Chapman, a 38 year old white male of Lusby. Detectives responded to the deceased’s residence in the 15000 block of Running Fox Circle and located the vehicle suspected to have been used during the incident.  A search and seizure warrant was executed on the residence. April Lynn Stewart, a 39 year old white female, was located inside of the residence.

After conducting additional investigation, there was evidence to indicate that Stewart was the second suspect involved in the incident. She and Chapman had gone to the residence on Harlequin Court with the intent to commit an armed robbery. Chapman was familiar with the residence because he had previously worked for a service company that had performed work at the residence in the past.

Stewart was arrested and charged with armed robbery. She is currently being held at the Calvert County Detention Center.
