6:22amAll CSM campuses will be closed today.

-St. Mary’s County-

2:28pm- Due to inclement weather and increasingly bad road conditions, the Northern Senior Activity Center, located at 29655 Charlotte Hall Road in Charlotte Hall, will close to the public at 1 p.m. this afternoon.

2:20pm- All Department of Recreation and Parks programs and facilities (including Great Mills swimming pool and gymnastics center) will be close at 4:00 p.m. this afternoon due to the inclement weather.

11:46am- NAS Patuxent River Employees should depart 2 hours earlier than their normal departure time, except for critical employees who should remain at work as scheduled. Employees may request unscheduled leave if departing prior to their staggered departure time. Admin leave will be granted for the hours after staggered departure time.

7:28am- All St. Mary's College of Maryland classes and offices are closed. Essential employees must report at their designated time.

7:26am- Due to today’s snow storm all three St. Mary’s County Library locations (Charlotte Hall, Leonardtown and Lexington Park) will open at 11 a.m. today.

6:51amSt. Mary’s County Government will be open and liberal leave is in effect for employees.

St. Mary’s Transit System (STS) will operate as usual however passengers should expect delays.

The Circuit Court will be open at its regular time.

Senior Centers will be open as usual however there will be no home delivered meals. Congregant meals will still be available.

All Recreation and Parks programs scheduled to be held in public schools are canceled for the day, including evening activities. All Recreation facilities and programs not held in schools are open and on-time as scheduled. 

5:10am- St. Mary's County Public Schools and offices are closed. No employees should report to work. Administrative leave will be provided for 12 month employees only

-Charles County-

2:24pm- VanGO public transit services will be terminated today by 1 p.m. due to deteriorating road conditions, continued wet snow and dropping temperatures.  Last departures from the Waldorf transfer point will be at noon, and from the La Plata transfer point at 12:30 p.m.  Dispatchers will be on duty until 3 p.m.

6:17am- Charles County Circuit Court (200 Charles Street, La Plata) closed today

Tri-County Animal Shelter (6707 Animal Shelter Road, Hughesville) closed today

Crain Memorial Welcome Center (12480 Crain Highway, Newburg) closed today

All Department of Community Services programs and facilities, including Meals on Wheels, Elite Gymnastics Center, Indoor Pools, Senior Centers and Community Recreation Centers will be closed today.

The Charles County Department of Health (4545 Crain Highway, White Plains) is closed today.

Charles County Public Library closed today, all branches

Charles County Landfill and Recycling Center (12305 Billingsley Road, Waldorf) and recycling centers in Pisgah, Gilbert Run, and Breeze Farm in Cobb Island are operating on a normal schedule today.

5:54am- Charles County Government offices will be closed on Wednesday, March 6, due to the inclement weather.  Essential personnel are to report to work as scheduled.

VanGO transportation service is operating on a normal schedule today, March 6. VanGO will be monitoring weather conditions throughout the day, and may alter schedules if needed.  For updated information on the operating status of VanGO, citizens may call the VanGO inclement weather line: 301-934-9305, extension 5179.  Citizens in need of VanGO service should contact the dispatcher at 301-609-7917.

5:17am- All Charles County Public Schools are closed. There is a code red for staff. Visit the school system website,, or call the 24-hour information line at 301-934-7410 for the latest school closing information.

5:20am Calvert County Public Schools Closed (Code Green for 12-Month Employees).
