Four Dogs Perish in Cobb Island House Fire

Four dogs perished and the human occupants were displaced in a house fire Thursday morning in Cobb Island. According to the Maryland State Fire Marshal’s Office, the fire at the home on Duvall Drive was accidental emanating from the light and pump components of a fish tank in the living room
Estimate of the damage to the home occupied by Jennifer and Joseph Dickerson is estimated to be $100,000. The Dickerson are being assisted by the American Red Cross.
It took 39 firefighters from the Cobb Island, Bel Alton, King George, La Plata and Newburg volunteer fire departments 30 minutes to bring the fire under control.
Deputy Fire Marshal Melissa Bean investigated the blaze.
