Woman Arrested After Attempting To Bite Deputy

On December 8 at 9:48 p.m. Dep. P. Mosely conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle on Prince Frederick Boulevard at West Dares Beach Road.  Dep. Mosely determined the driver was operating the vehicle on a suspended license. 

The driver, identified as Angela Marie Cox, 34 of Prince Frederick, began yelling and cursing at the deputy and refused to get out of the vehicle.  Once Dep. Mosely got her out of the vehicle, she continued to yell and tried to kick the deputy and attempted to bite him. 

Cox was arrested and charged with resisting arrest, second degree assault, driving on a suspended license and other traffic violations.

What happened to innocent until proven guilty?? I heard that a witness saw what happened and charges are being filed against this police officer for assault on this victim.

I heard from a friend that their grandmother's second cousin's girlfriend's mother saved a bunch of money on her car insurance. Must be the deputies fault for that too.

IUPG42 - is that you Angela?? You know there was no witness. People are slamming you and you're trying to appear to have at least one person on your side when you know no one is on your side. Too many people know the REAL you??? How is that head of yours? Guess that is what happens when you attempt to bite an officer! Maybe next time you're driving on a suspended license you'll keep your mouth shut - literally!!

IUPG42 - your a fool....how is somebody innocent until proven guilty when their license is already suspended?? Yes, I believe what is posted here you dummy. You can MD case search it too if you still need proof.

I don't think the question is whether or not the licence was suspended.
The question is, did she.. "began yelling and cursing at the deputy and refused to get out of the vehicle. Once Dep. Mosely got her out of the vehicle, she continued to yell and tried to kick the deputy and attempted to bite him. There would be two sides too this story plus a possible witness.(per se) Thats why she is innocent until proven quilty. We then can't assume that the police officers story was spot on correct, the police dept does have a few bad eggs .According to IUPG42 there is a witness to something...I then hope that the witness is honest, not biased and tells the truth. Don't concider mine as a attack on your post as you attacked IUPG42, however, I will say IF YOU BELIEVE EVERYTHING YOU HEAR >> WHO THEN IS THE FOOL ?
For what ever happened it clearly stressed out this lady,based on her mug shot,....... I hope she's doing better.

Yes, I hope she is alright as well. We should all be as doubtful and mistrusting of our civil servants (especially those in the position to protect the public) because you never know when they are going to just whoop some white girl's a*! because she was driving on a suspended license. Nothing puts a cop over the top more than pulling over somebody and finding out they have a traffic violation history and are on a suspended license. I mean what was she thinking....she had to expect this police officer to go all "postal" on her then. I mean, she probably should have taken her chance and tried to evade knowing that she had committed these crimes.
She's crying because her butt is in trouble and yet she more than likely sat in her car telling the officer she had more important things to do than listen to his commands or wait until her license was valid before driving again. She pouted and it looks like she was "grounded". Good for the officer for not wasting anymore time or attempt to pamper her into custody.

In addition ....
At one of her recent jobs they had to have armed guards for a week due to the threats she made to staff after her dismissal. (That's a FACT!!!!!)

Innocent until proven guilty?
She was driving with a SUSPENDED license. Guilty. She was asked to get out of the car and didn't. Resisting. She screamed, kicked, and tried to bite the officer. Assault.
GUILTY. What kind of person tries to bite A COP??? A crazy one. Instead of owning up to her foolish actions, she wants to pin the blame on someone else. It's not her fault, something or someone else made me do those things. That's her MO. I know this chick and have for many years. This is NOT her first resisting arrest/assault charge. The best thing for her would be to lock her butt up. That's what she needs: some reprimand.

You couldn't be further from the truth. She is probably one of the most unstable person I've encountered. She has assaulting a police officer in 2002 (under another name). She's had several driving on a suspended license in the last year. They need to lock her up for a while and get her some mental help before she goes postal.

You forgot to mention failure to appear for the suspended license charges and the bench warrant for that. Sadly, she'll probably outsmart/con the prosecutors/judges in So. Md., so here's a hint: if you want to know if she's lying to you, look to see if her lips are moving.

Don't Judge So Quickly
When a woman becomes physical with a male arresting officer, it may be because she has been a victim of boyfriend/spousal abuse. This woman may have felt very threatened and her instinct was to protect herself.

Also, I've heard that this woman is a lawyer who has done quite a bit of pro bono work. Can someone verify this? Also, was there a witness to the arrest?

This Isn't A Courtroom
I agree but I'm shocked at the judgment being passed on this person.

No, I'm not a defense attorney; I'm a dissertation candidate in psychology. My dissertation deals with reactions to authority figures. A strong reaction, as this one might've been, generally involves a provoking incident or post-traumatic stress.

I was spanked (several times) when I was a kid, for bad behavior. So now, If I'm stopped for a traffic violation, can I claim PTSD and attack the officer? Would you testify on my behalf?

I'm not testifying on anyone's behalf. I'm responding to posts. Firefly, do you view your father as an abusive authority figure? If you're suffering from post-traumatic stress, it could affect your judgment when dealing with authority figures.

Obviously you have been educated at a very liberal college. You don't recognize sarcasm when you see it do you? Of course, I realize sarcasm doesn't come out as well when its written so I'll cut you some slack there.

To answer your question, I had have a wonderful loving dad who taught me right from wrong and dicipline in my personal life. I take responsibility for my actions and have respect for others. I do not have any respect for criminals who look for excuses for their criminal behavior (Always after they're caught). I also have very little respect for those who give them their excuses.

You don't like sarcasm, I get it. I think sarcasm is a wonderful source of entertainment. The fact that you had to sink to an insult has alot to say about you. What I find interesting is that you were able to read a 5 sentence press release, and were apparently able to build a phsycological profile of a women you've never met and build in an excuse to somehow explain her actions. I wish everyone could share your brilliance! (That last sentence was sarcastic. I wanted to let you know so that you could get a grasp on my juvenile behavior!)

There are lots and lots of stories about the druggies and other criminals in southern Maryland. There's a difference between excuses and explanations. While there's no excuse for assaulting an officer, there may be an explanation (my research concerns this). I'm very respectful of police officers and believe we're accountable for our actions, regardless of what prompted them.
