Stoned-Out Driver Found Sitting on Shoulder

At 2:52 p.m. June 17, Trooper Garrett of the LaPlata barrack, approached the driver of a vehicle that was sitting on the shoulder of MD Rt. 205, north of Sub-Station Road, to see if he needed assistance. The driver, James Roland Presley III, 39, of Mechanicsville, showed signs of impairment. Presley failed field sobriety tests and was arrested. A search incident to arrest revealed a quantity of pills, suspected Suboxone (morphine) and drug paraphernalia. Presley was charged with possession of CDS, not marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and driving while impaired. |
