UPDATE: Missing 17 Year Old Prince Frederick Girl Has Been FOUND

UPDATE 3/26/2012:

Seventeen-year-old Jessica Leatherwood, who had been reported missing by family members to deputies at the Calvert County Sheriff’s Office on January 3 of this year, was found safe on January 26 in Baltimore.Leatherwood’s mother called Det. Jason Ewig of the C.I.T. on the evening of January 26 and stated that Jessica would be at her residence in Baltimore at 11:00 p.m. that night and police could respond and make contact with Jessica.Baltimore City police responded to the house and transported Leatherwood to Calvert County where Det. Ewig charged her on a youth report as a runaway.

Extensive searching was done for Leatherwood throughout the time period she was missing.C.I.T. investigators contacted citizens in both Calvert County and Baltimore to determine her whereabouts, as well as keeping in contact with the girl’s mother, who had stated all along that she knew where her daughter was and that she was “safe”.

No charges will be filed against Leatherwood’s mother.

From a spokesperson for the Calvert County Sheriff's Department: Jessica Leatherwood has still not been found.  Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Ms. Leatherwood is asked to immediately call Trp. Jason Ewig at 410-535-1600 ext. 2596

UPDATE: C.I.T. Investigators have received information to look for Jessica Christine Leatherwood, the 17-year-old who was reported as a runaway on January 3 of this year, in Baltimore and Rockville.There was a reported sighting in Dunkirk of Jessica yesterday but police did not locate her.Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Ms. Leatherwood is asked to immediately call Trp. Jason Ewig at 410-535-1600 ext. 2596 or Lt. Steve Jones on ext. 2462.

On January 3, 2012 the family of Jessica Christine Leatherwood, a seventeen-year-old from Prince Frederick, reported her missing to the Calvert County Sheriff’s Office.  Jessica is five feet two inches tall, weighs 125 pounds with blue eyes and brown shoulder-length hair.  She was last seen boarding her school bus at 6:45 that morning wearing a hooded knee-length brown sweater, dark leggings and brown boots.  She was also wearing silver rings on both hands.  She reportedly did not attend school that day.  All attempts to locate Jessica Leatherwood have been unsuccessful.
