Vice Narcotics Busts Trio for Rx Fraud and More
St. Mary's County, MD - 12/6/2011
Over the last several weeks members of the Vice Narcotics Division began receiving information that at least two suspects were utilizing stolen prescriptions to obtain controlled prescription medication. Pharmaceutical diversion detectives began to investigate and were able to find that the prescription pads were stolen from a physician in Baltimore. The suspect was identified as Michelle Lee Anderson (Age 36 of Lexington Park).
On 12-05-11, detectives received information that Suspect Anderson and a second suspect, Hezekiah Eric Swann (Age 52 of Windsor Mill, Maryland) were attempting to pass a stolen prescription at a California, Maryland pharmacy. Both suspects were positively identified and stopped by narcotics detectives who were being assisted by Sheriff’s Office patrol deputies. A third suspect, Kevin Anthony Clarke (Age 25 of Pikesville, Maryland) was immediately identified as a prior co-conspirator from incidents as far back as a month ago.
Seized during the search of the vehicle were multiple bags of marijuana, nearly 360 “Oxycodone” tablets with a street value of nearly $11,000, a stolen prescription that was filled out to one of the suspects for “Oxycodone” and a document that was used to practice forging the signature of the physician. All three were arrested and additional charges are pending a State’s Attorney’s Office review.
