The Tiki Bar in Solomons is known far and wide for its annual spring event that attracts thousands. But on Sunday the bar owners graciously turned their property over to the dogs and cats and their human companions.

It was billed as “That Doggone Tiki Bar Family Pet Day.” Many attendees brought their own pets along to enjoy the perfect October day. Others came looking for a new companion as a number of local rescue groups participated, bringing with them pets available for adoption.
Some of the day’s events included a pet costume and owner look-alike contest and low-cost micro chipping. In addition to the rescue groups, there also were a number of vendors on hand with pet oriented items.
