ABC Wellness & Fitness Center is sponsoring its First Annual 2010 Cancer Awareness Gala themed "Reflections of HOPE", Saturday, December 18, 2010 at the National Golf Club located in Fort Washington, Maryland.

The purpose of "Reflections of HOPE" is to provide the awareness of the various forms of cancer through knowledge and support. This vision manifested because we have noticed that we were surrounded by so many people that have had some type of encounter with cancer rather they were diagnosed with cancer, currently receiving treatment, a survivor, or have a loved one seeking HOPE. The color for general cancer is lavender.

ABC Wellness & Fitness Center decided that it is time to bring awareness to cancer, but not just breast cancer because there are so many other forms of cancer that people are fighting against. We are HOPING that with knowledge and support - we can look in the mirror with the reflection of HOPE looking back. It starts with you…

THE FACTS*The American Cancer Society estimates that in 2010 about 171,000 cancer deaths are expected to be caused by tobacco use. About 1.5 Million new cases are expected in 2010. Scientific evidence suggests that one-third of the 570,000 cancer deaths expected to occur in 2010 will be related to overweight or obesity, physical inactivity, and poor nutrition and thus could also be prevented.

Regular screening examinations by a health care professional can result in the detection and removal of precancerous growths, as well as the diagnosis of cancers at an early stage, when they are most treatable.

Anyone can develop cancer! Since the risk of being diagnosed with cancer increases as individuals' age, most cases occur in adults who are middle-aged or older.

About 78% of all cancers are diagnosed in persons 55 years and older.

PURPOSE OF THE GALA
We plan for it to be an evening of awareness, support, recognition, and FUN! We plan to give HOPE (gifts) to those in attendance who are survivors, caretakers, and currently receiving treatment. Also, we plan to donate proceeds to "Zero Prostate Cancer" a 501(c)(3) that is an advocate for prostate cancer deaths. Their name conveys what they stand for zero tolerance for prostate cancer. As ZERO - The Project to End Prostate Cancer, they have committed themselves not only to reduce prostate cancer or alleviate the pain from the disease but to end it.

WHAT WE NEED
ABC Wellness & Fitness Center is seeking your support because we can't conquer this initiative alone! We need your financial support to reach our goal of $10,000 in donations. This will offer a powerful opportunity for sponsorship, product presentation, and is a wonderful way to reach hundreds of people touched by cancer across Southern Maryland. Your support of this truly empowering event and deeply meaningful mission can be broadly publicized especially in the time leading up to the Gala. Your support with depict your level of commitment to our community, in which you operate your business. The benefits associated with each level of sponsorship are outlined in the following pages.

Sincerely, John & Tammy Wright Founders / Owners 3010 Crain Highway, Suite 100 Waldorf, Maryland 20601
