Law Enforcement Torch Run Helps to Support Special Olympics

Greetings all, once again it is time to plan for the St. Mary's County leg of the Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics. The Torch run is a fund raising effort, which raises funds to support the many Special Olympics athletes in the State of Maryland. The date of the Torch Run is June 4, 2010 and will begin at 8 a.m. Runners and walkers are asked to meet at Cheeseburger in Paradise in the Wildewood Center located in California, Maryland. The Run/Walk is open to all participants. The run is approximately 7 miles long and the walk approximately 3 miles. The run/walk will begin at Cheeseburger in Paradise and will continue to the Calvert County side of the Governor Johnson Bridge. Support vehicles will lead and follow the runners and walkers to assure safety. At the conclusion of the event all participants will be transported back to Cheeseburger in Paradise, where they will be treated to a complementary lunch, provided by Cheeseburger in Paradise. Prior to the run a complimentary breakfast will be provided by Chick-fil-a. There will be prizes, trophies, a 50/50 raffle and other activities for participants. Please support Special Olympics athletes by purchasing an official Torch Run T-shirts, sizes (M) (L) (XL) (XXL). T-shirts are available for the purchase price of $10.00.
