Teens Set Fire on Board an Occupied School Bus

The Maryland State Fire Marshalls are investigating a case of arson in Charles County following a fire on an occupied school bus.

Investigation revealed two 13-year-old males were charged with second-degree malicious burning and reckless endangerment after igniting combustible materials with a cigarette lighter while riding a bus in motion occupied by several children.

No injuries were reported. Damage estimate rings in at $100.

The juveniles were released to the custody of their parents.

The case has been forwarded to the Department of Juvenile Services for disposition.
