|
On Tuesday, November 3, the Maryland Department of Transportation’s State Highway Administration will shift traffic on the southbound US 301 (Crain Highway) bridge over MD 214 (Central Avenue) to the newly re-decked side of the bridge. This work is part of the $2.1 million bridge rehabilitation project along southbound Beginning at 9 a.m., SHA will shift traffic from the current pattern on the left side of the bridge to the newly rehabilitated right side of the US 301 bridge in order to proceed with the second phase of the bridge rehabilitation project. During the day, traffic will be maintained in one through lane along southbound US 301. Once the switch is complete traffic will have two through lanes by using an existing lane and one shoulder; this work should be complete before the afternoon rush hour. The existing ramp closures will continue until construction is complete. SHA reminds all drivers to buckle up, obey posted speed limits, think orange, and stay alert. Customers who have questions about traffic operations along MD 214, US 301 or other State numbered routes in Prince George’s County may call SHA’s District 3 Office at (301) 513-7300 or toll free at 1-800-749-0737. |
