The Calvert County Health Department will be holding an H1N1 (Swine) Flu Clinic for children, 6 months through 18 year olds ONLY, on Saturday, October 31 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Calvert County Fairgrounds in Prince Frederick on Rt. 231.

There will be no charge for this clinic and it will operate on a first come, first serve basis.

Injectable vaccine will be reserved for children who are 6 through 23 month olds and children with medical conditions while supplies last.  All others may receive the H1N1 (Swine) FluMist nasal spray vaccine.

An important point to remember is that the seasonal FluMist nasal spray andthe H1N1 (Swine) FluMist nasal spray must be separated by at least 21 days.

For example, if your child has received the seasonal FluMist vaccine less than 21 days prior to 10/31 they will not be able to receive the H1N1 (Swine) FluMist vaccine at this clinic.

It is expected that CCHD will eventually receive enough vaccine for residents to be vaccinated.  For updated information, contact the Calvert County Health Department at www.calverthealth.org or call (410) 535-5400.
