On Oct. 23, at 6:31 p.m., TFC C. M. Evans responded to the Wal-Mart Sore in California for the reported theft. 

Upon arrival, contact was made with the male Loss Prevention Officer who advised the suspect, Wanda Denise Owens, 42 of Valley Lee, attempted to leave the store with a shopping cart containing $272.72 worth of items and was approached by an employee to present a receipt prior to exiting the doors which she could not. 

The Loss Prevention Officer took Owens to the Loss Prevention Office awaiting TFC Evans arrival.  Owens was taken into custody and transported to the St. Mary’s County Detention Center where she was held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.
