On Oct. 17 at 10:20 p.m., officers responded to the Five Guys restaurant at 230 Rosewick Road in La Plata for a robbery.
Investigation revealed employees had just closed the business for the night when an unknown suspect entered through an unlocked back door, approached an employee, displayed a handgun and demanded money. After obtaining the money, the suspect forced three of the employees into a walk-in cooler before he fled. No one was injured.

The suspect is described as a black male with a light complexion, 5 feet 8 inches tall, weighing 195 lbs., wearing a dark jacket and a scarf covering the lower portion of his face.

A police K-9 conducted a track and officers processed the scene for evidence. Detectives are working several leads in the case.
