Victims Robbed at Gunpoint in Mall Parking Lot

WALDORF - 10/21/2009

On Oct. 16 at 10 p.m., officers responded to Mall Circle Drive in Waldrof for the report of a citizen robbery.

Investigation revealed the victims were walking in the parking lot when the suspects drove up in a dark blue Honda Accord. The suspects displayed a handgun and demanded the victims put their money and cell phones on the ground.

The victims complied and the suspects fled.

The Charles County Sheriff’s Office is investigating several robberies that recently occurred throughout the county. Detectives have developed leads in some of the cases and at this point it is not clear if any of the cases are related.

Yet some say there is no correlation between the increase in crime and the fact that Charles County is turning into PG County. All the street trash is moving from DC and PG and turning Charles into a crime ridden hell hole. Nice..

I agree, I am surprised they still have dupties hired and haven't quit yet because of all the trouble they have to go through. I am sure plenty of them are hating it right about now and it is only getting worse. Seems like every crime that is committed that they are getting away with it for a few days or maybe for awhile. Just about everything on here is from Waldorf area.

There's where the problems start. If everyone stops selling their homes to move away from the DC/PG element, what can one expect the county to look like in 5yrs. Those of you now can not move to Calvert. Too expensive and will remain so. So keep your house and start supporting law enforcement by keeping an eye on everything around you and reporting it.

Maybe one day...
...MD will actually allow its law abiding citizens the right of armed self-defense, and **** like this will come to a halt.

Allowing law abiding citizens in a democrat state to carry weapons for self defense. They'd rather punish you and me for having legal weapons.

When you can guarantee that all the people allowed to carry concealed weapons are not mental or hot-tempered or other wise then I'll agree with you on the guns. Allowing someone to carry a gun does not make them responsible. Just look at the article about the pier shooting. Or the other articles about people firing shots because someone's messing with their Christmas decorations, etc. Maybe you're responsible with your firearms but that doesn't mean that other people are. And I don't care to be on a bus or in a crowded place with someone that has a gun hanging on their belt and they decide to take justice in their own hands and get me instead of the bad guy because they can't aim.

I could make the same comments about the way some folks drive their cars. The trouble with your argument is that it's not about how you feel, it's about my Constitutional Rights. And I agree, not everyone should be allowed to carry; only one state, Vermont, has no licensing or background check to carry. Funny thing, though. VT has about the lowest crime rate in the country. I wonder why?

Truth hurts I suppose. Let me guess, you're one of the transplants right and I've offended you? I suppose you like the direction this area is going? We're speaking the truth and who cares how many times it's said. This used to be a nice safe area, populated with people that grew up here and cared about their community. Now, it's full of people that moved into the area after they ran down their own neighborhoods. Funny how the drugs, violence and homicides followed them. I lived in Waldorf for a long long time, but now, I wouldn't raise my child there if I had to.

Offended? Not hardly. I could care less about that crap hole Waldorf. You have this unrealistic expectation that it would stay this nice little communtity forever that close to DC. Good folks like yourself populated it over the years which lead to opportunity for the "street trash" as you call it to move in also. It's unavoidable.
