On Saturday, Oct. 17, despite dreary cold rainy weather, the St. Mary’s Sheriff’s Office and the Leonardtown Barrack of the Maryland State Police held a joint open house from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. The informative demonstrations and displays allowed St. Mary’s citizens to learn about the many facets of law enforcement and prevention.

Although a number of activities outside were cancelled due to the weather conditions, the indoor activities were fun and educational for all. The children enjoyed the safety talk by McGruff the Crime Dog and they, along with their parents learned more about Internet safety and how to keep safe from Internet scams and predators.

There was a tour of the detention center and more. TheBAYNET.com was there to record it all. Take a look at the accompanying pictures to see if you know anyone that was “Caught in the Net!”
