Suspected Drug Activity Being Conducted at WaWa: Arrests Made

On October 9 at 5:40 p.m., Calvert County Dep. Frank Winston responded to the Dunkirk WaWa Convenience store for a report of two men who refused to leave and were suspected of conducting drug activity at the store.
Dep. Winston was advised that the two men had just left the store in a vehicle and were accompanied by a second vehicle. After locating both cars at the Dunkirk Citgo gas station, Dep. Winston, assisted by Dep. Aundrea Lawton, made contact with the three individuals. The driver of the second car, identified as Mary Kathleen Anderson, 20 of Owings, was found to be in possession of suspected drugs. She was arrested and charged with possession of Heroin, possession with intent to use drug paraphernalia, a hypodermic needle, and possession of controlled paraphernalia, a hypodermic syringe.
One of the men in the first vehicle was later found to have suspected drugs on his person. Phillip DePaul Bowles, 23 of Warsaw, Va., was arrested and charged with possession of Heroin, possession with intent to use drug paraphernalia, a metal spoon, possession of controlled paraphernalia, a hypodermic syringe and possession of controlled paraphernalia, glassine envelopes in sufficient quantity to indicate an intention to use for illegal dispensing of controlled dangerous substances.
