Many have an incredible soft spot for pets. Solomons’ Tiki Bar is no exception. For that reason, the Tiki Bar held its first ever ‘That Doggone Tiki Bar Family Pet Day,’ on Sunday, Oct. 11. The pet-friendly event raised money for PAWS, a new pet clinic located in Huntingtown.

Participating at the event were a number of pet rescue organizations and clinics, including PAWS, Doberman Animal Rescue & Education, Friends of Felines, St. Mary's Animal Welfare League and Greyt Expectations Greyhound Rescue.

In addition, there were a number of vendors participating as well: Doggie Closet, Doggie Styles, Reiki Tails, Dogwatch Hidden Fences, PetSmart and Petco.

While no ruff housing was allowed, there were some playful competitions for everyone! Contests included:

  • Best Pet Owner Look Alike
  • Best Pet Trick
  • Longest Tail
  • Best Dressed Rescue Pet
  • Muttliest Mutt
  • Best Decorated Cat Carrier

Adding to the fun, the Tiki Bar had t-shirts specially made for the day and featured live music by Charlie Bezilla. There was fun and food and music and lots of furry friends all day. TheBAYNET.com was there to record all the fun!
