Strong Odor of Pot Leads to Arrest of Drugged Driver

On October 2, at 12:48 a.m., Steveland Morris Penn Stewart, 24 of Lexington Park, was arrested by TFC C. M. Evans for Possession of Marijuana and CDS Paraphernalia. 

Stewart was a passenger in a white Buick when it was stopped for Failing to Drive in a single lane.  The traffic stop was located on Kingston Creek Road in California.  Upon contact with the driver, a strong odor of burnt Marijuana was emitting from the vehicle. Stewart was found to be in possession of a plastic bag of Marijuana. 

Stewart was taken into custody and transported to the St. Mary’s County Detention Center where he was held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner
