Task Force Locates Nearly 60 Fugitives

Charles County Sheriff Rex W. Coffey is pleased to announce the results of a recent warrant sweep coordinated by the Charles County Sheriff’s Office Warrant / Fugitive Unit and Domestic Violence Unit.
The operation – which was conducted on Sept. 30 and Oct. 1 - consisted of members of the Judicial Services Section, Community Policing Unit, Tactical Response Squad, and United States Marshals Service. A total of 39 sworn officers, four correctional officers, two communications officers, and two warrant clerks participated in the sweep.
Fifty-nine warrants were served, and one stolen firearm - a Glock 9mm handgun - was recovered. Lt. K. Hense served as the operational commander.
