This past Saturday, Oct. 3, Leonardtown’s Buffalo Wings & Beer hosted the Save the Ta Ta’s Bikini Contest to benefit breast cancer. According to event organizer, Mandy Echoff, there were 19 contestants, four of which were men.

Before the event, contestants were supposed to try and sell as many votes as they could to raise money for cancer. When all was said and done, the winner, Jennifer Higgs brought in 459 votes at a dollar a piece. Second place went to Tracy Lumpkins who sold 350 votes and third place went to Juan Garner with 125 votes.

A number of local businesses also donated some great items to aid in the fundraising effort. Echoff stated that the contest allowed Buffalo Wings & Beer to provide $2,700 to the cause to find a cure for breast cancer, create cancer awareness and help cancer victims.
