Teens Arrested Using Apple to Get High

On Oct. 5 at 12:08 a.m., Calvert County DFC Richard Weems stopped to assist a stranded motorist on southbound Md. Route 4 at Sweetwater Road in Lusby.
He detected a strong odor of marijuana upon contacting the driver and lone passenger. Both individuals were arrested after marijuana and paraphernalia was observed. Michael Keith Stepp, 19 of California and Benjamin Jacob Eicher, 18 of Silver Spring, were both arrested.
Stepp was charged with possession of marijuana, and possession with intent to use drug paraphernalia, a red apple, used to inhale marijuana. Eicher was charged with possession of marijuana and possession with intent to use drug paraphernalia, a round metal cylinder grinder.
