On Sept. 26 at 11:10 p.m., a La Plata Town police officer responded to Crain Highway near Drury Drive in La Plata for a motor vehicle hit and run.

The victim reported the driver of a dark colored, full size pick-up truck struck her vehicle and fled. A lookout was broadcasted and a Charles County Sheriff’s officer spotted the truck near Hawthorne Road. When officers attempted to stop the truck, the driver fled to Livingston Road where he eventually stopped.

The driver, Warren Roger Stapleton, 39 of La Plata, was arrested and crack cocaine was found inside the truck.

Stapleton was charged with traffic violations and possession of drugs. Officer S. Miller made the arrest.
