On Sunday, Sept. 20, this year’s Taste of St. Mary’s was a gastric delight in the square in Leonardtown. According to St. Mary's County Chamber of Commerce President, Bill Scarafia, "It was a wonderful event. We were busy from the moment we opened until the event came to a close." Scarafia indicated that the event experienced significantly more attendendees than at any time in the past. When asked about the importance of that Scarafia said, "We are now finally able to promote the hospitality industry the way we want." There were 17 participating vendors and the crowd was so large that at times restaurants had difficulty coping with the orders. Winning the taste competition were J.T. Dougherty Center, Old Towne and CD Cafe. TheBAYNET.com was there to capture the fun. Take a look at these pictures to see what went on during the popular event.
