On Saturday, Sept. 26, Patuxent Habitat for Humanity’s ReStore is holding its second anniversary sale. The sale is support the efforts of PHH and family housing programs. The thrift facility is located at 21768 South Coral Drive in Lexington Park, across from gate two. The ReStore offers an ever changing selection of goods such as: furniture, appliances, electronics, cabinet, doors, windows and more.

PHH ReStore offers those who support the effort tax deduction eligibility for all donated items with pick-up and delivery services available in both Calvert and St. Mary’s Counties. Despite the significant loss with the passing of John Girolamo, the store is up and running strong.

PHH and ReStore is now searching for a new home. The current space was originally donated by Keith Fairfax and Bob Braddock of the Bay District Fire Department. However due to the larger Lexington Park Community Development plan and future sale of the building, PHH has initiated a search for a new ReStore location.

The success of the ReStore is critical, beyond the recycling efforts and saving useful products from the local landfills, and offering an important service to our local community. More important, the ReStore generates significant funds to cover the operational cost of Patuxent Habitat for Humanity allowing every dollar to be donated directly to PHH to be applied to building safe, affordable homes for local working class families such as the Shreve Family.

The family was chosen to receive the St. Mary’s Apostle’s Build home. Bill and Tiffany and their two little girls Autumn, two, and Lacey, one will be the first of five families to be partnering with Patuxent Habitat for Humanity in the Fenwick development.

Bill Shreve is employed with St Mary’s County Met-Com and Tiffany Shreve is employed with Good Samaritan Lutheran Church Preschool.

The family’s current living conditions are extremely substandard. The house has been on the market for several months and the family has been living with the possibility their home could be sold at any time.

Anyone looking for quality used goods is encouraged to come to the second anniversary sale on Saturday. The ReStore facility is chock full of amazing bargain surprises.
