At approximately 8:30 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 14, the Dunkirk Volunteer Fire Department and Rescue Squad had a report of an auto accident on Route 4 South and Briscoes Turn Road in Owings. When units arrived on the scene, there was a two car accident, near the Route 4 and Briscoes Turn/Skinners Turn Road intersection. Apparently, a vehicle coming from Skinners Turn Road crossed Route 4 North and entered into a Southbound lane of Route 4, which was then struck by the other vehicle. The driver of vehicle going South on Route 4 was transported to the hospital and the driver of the other vehicle signed a release at the scene. The investigation is still ongoing and final cause of accident will be determined by law enforcement officers. |
