Body Found at Wicomico Shores Pier

WICOMICO SHORES - 9/10/2009

Authorities are on the scene of a body found at the Wicomico Shores Pier on Army Navy Drive in Wicomico Shores.

Rescue crews received the call shortly before 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 10.

St. Mary's County Police continue to investigate, fire and rescue crews have left the scene.

The body has been determined to be that of a male.

More details to follow as they become available.

a moment
on sunday afternoon my family and i was out boating on the water and in the mist of a wave i saw a head in the water my family said i was crazy.It was a white male or female w/blonde or red hair. the location was coltons point,around 530pm damn only if i called it in..........................

I know details
I live in the Shores. The lady I work with, her brother found him when he went to crab off the pier. Apparently the man was hanging from a tree. When my co-workers brother got there, there was a red truck in the parking lot. He began to unload his crabbing equipment. He took the first load out on the pier. When he was walking back to get the rest of the equipment, he noticed a man hanging from a tree. The man's back was to him and there was a cooler underneath the man. I believe he was hanging from the tree by the restrooms because his body was not apparent from the parking lot. Anyways, he walked over there and realized the man was dead and call authorities. I will be getting more details this morning from my co-worker.

Everyone Please Remember
When a police investigation is ongoing they sometimes do not give much information to the media right away. I am sure the news will come out some time. I am sure there is an investigation. I am also sure we can wait until the police feel that it is appropriate to give the information out.

OK how about if we stop and think
for a few minutes! If you had a loved one who you had not heard from in a few days, would you not be very concerned when you read this sory that the person found might be him? How would you feel? Yes, the investigation needs to progress until an identity has been established and the family notified. I just hope he was not a friend or family member of someone who made some of the comments above! Think about others before you open your mouth!

That is so true, this is a family member of mine. Thank you for your reply its nice to hear good comments. I truely hope that it doesn't get any more publicity than this. It's hard enough to deal with and especially for the children in the family.

I agree that the computer is a means to information, but this was a friend of mine and people should think about what they put out there and how it could affect others before they do it

You are welcome but thanks is not needed. It should be common sense in a situation where a life has been taken not matter the method. But I feel that with the computer we have gotten away from seeing the story as a person but as a thing that does not have feelings or does not affect others, and it certainly does. Every story on here, good or bad, touches a life or several lives. We ALL need to stop and think about that before putting down some comments such as "donkey punch" did above.
