Erratic Driver on Drugs Travelling Route 4 Charged with DUI

Sgt. Brian McCourt conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle that was reported to be driving erratically near Broomes Island Road on northbound Md. Route 4 on September 4 at 8:43 a.m.
Sgt. McCourt observed the driver after Lt. Colonel Tom Hejl initiated a traffic stop on the vehicle in the parking lot of the Old Field Inn in Prince Frederick.
The driver, later identified as Roger W. Buckler, Jr., 41 of Leonardtown, was found to be driving while under the influence of drugs or alcohol. A search incident to arrest revealed a controlled dangerous substance.
Buckler was arrested and charged with DUI and possession of a controlled dangerous substance, alprazolam.
