At approximately 12:19 p.m. on Wednesday, August 26, firefighters from Leonardtown and Second District responded to a reported 18-wheeler truck fire. When firefighters arrived they found a tractor fully involved in heavy flame.

Firefighters were able to put down the flames in about 30 minutes, but extensive clean-up of the site had to be done to the area with fire units requesting State Highway assistance for the clean-up effort. The driver of the truck escaped unharmed.
