The Cove Point Park Pool located in Lusby was burglarized and vandalized sometime between August 11 at 9 p.m. and August 12 at 5:30 a.m.  Dep. Aaron Locke responded and was advised by the pool manager that the unknown suspect(s) had broken into the snack bar, stolen candy and drinks valued at over $750 and knocked over and destroyed various items. They removed a television from the storage shed and threw it into the pool.  Yellow paint was splashed on the walls of the storage shed and various items contained inside were broken. The suspect(s) also threw broken glass and pool chairs, among other items, into the pool.  More than $8500 in damage was done.

Det. Michael Mudd of the Criminal Investigative Team determined from security camera footage that four male suspects broke into and ransacked the pool facility.  The security cameras had been installed by the Sheriff’s Office because of a series of thefts and vandalism reports at the pool and adjacent ball park.  Det. Mudd was able to identify two of the suspects.

Further investigation determined the identity of all four suspects who were subsequently arrested.  One suspect, a seventeen-year-old male from Lusby, was charged on a youth report with 4th degree burglary, 2nd degree burglary, theft over $500 and malicious destruction of property over $500 and released to a parent.

The remaining three subjects, all of Lusby, arrested and charged are Maxwell Lewis Scroggs, 18, Delante Nicholas Winder, 18, and Dusty Michael Milling, 18.  The three are charged with 4th degree burglary, 2nd degree burglary, theft over $500 and malicious destruction of property over $500.
