Judge Tired of Blocked Parking Takes Matters into his Owns Hands

Non-official reports state that Charles County Circuit Court Judge Robert C. Nalley admitted to deflating the tires of a vehicle that consistently parked in restricted parking areas of the Charles County Circuit Court House.

The judge admitted to flattening one tire on numerous occasions, deciding that the action was less intrusive than calling the police and having the vehicle towed.

The owner of the car with a flattened tire, Jean Washington, allegedly stated that she was not aware that there were parking restrictions in the space that she had been parking in. Furthermore her statement indicated that she had received no earlier warnings or notes of any kind before her tire was deflated,

The La Plata Police Department is currently investigating the supposed events. However, TheBAYNET.com has not been able to verify this information with any official sources in Charles County or the La Plata Police.

TBN is awaiting official confirmation of the events and will update you as soon as more information becomes available.

If the tire had not been completely deflated, and this woman drove, it could lead to a serious accident. Would that Judge, become liable for injuries, does this equate to distruction of property ?? I bet the local police are doing some serious side-steeping on this one.

OH yeah he needs to be charged, especially admitting to it. She should press charges on him and sue him. I can understand being irritated by it, but you can't just do what you want especially when your @ss sends people to jail. He is know better then the criminals he persecutes and prosecutes. Now he is a criminal.

If the tire was deflated ... if this, if that ... 'unofficial reports?' Your officially reporting it makes it official ... your saying the judge commits crimes outside the courthouse door ... What if none of the this is true and the judge decides to take action, duh, he's a judge, not the person you should be spreading rumors about ... don't ya think.

He deflated a tire. Big deal. Like the judge said, its less intrusive then dealing with the headaches of getting towed. I have been to the courthouse in laplata. There are plenty of signs posted, blocking parking in certain areas. This woman needs to open her eyes, or she just chose to ignore the signs.
None the less, WAY TO GO JUDGE!!!!!!
As far as getting in your vehicle and driving on a flat tire! What idiot would do that???? If the flat tire is on the other side of the car, then it should take all of about 2 seconds to realize that you have a flat!!! and if you cant notice that, then you shouldnt be driving.

Judge Nalley, keep deflating......thats some funny sh#t right there!!!!

A JUDGE IS SUPPOSED TO BE A PILLAR OF THE COMMUNITY, SOMEONE WHO INTERPRETS AND UPHOLDS THE CONSTITUTION AND LAWS OF THE UNITED STATES. THE JUDGE IS NOT ABOVE THE LAW, HE CLEARLY BROKE THE LAW. Alot better than calling the police and getting towed! Its a minor inconvenience compared to that. So what if he deflated the tires! I would rather that happen then pay $$$ in fines and possibly have to go to court over it if I did it habitually.

If anyone else would have done this, they'd be jailed! Com'n, what gives with these kind of office holders thinking they are above the law? If the person really was illegally parked, get it towed! (Leads me to think they weren't illegally parked.....)

Don't you'all know that a judge is above the law and doesn't have to follow it?? Especially this one. He's a pompous jerk and is super hard in the court room and then goes out and pulls vigilanty justice? Seriously???

Just an FYI...a concerned citizen saw this happening and called the police, then proceeded to use his cell phone to video the event. With that and the surveilance cameras Judge Nally didn't have much choice but to admit it. What happens when someone tampers with your car and goes in front of Judge Nally for it - do you think justice will be served?

You know, I have to agree on both points here. This guy that yells at criminals for making ONE mistake that they regret, goes and does something as bad as flattening a tire. If he's not charged and reprimanded as a non-judiciary official would be or thrown off the bench, I say the citizens of this state should take action, because all that's allowing is the truth of Hollywood Treatment seep it's way into our state, and then those of us that might make ONE little error in judgement and do something stupid, gets put away for whatever amount of time, whereas a judge gets off scott free.....that's not right....I do agree tho that flattening a tire isn't as bad as towing it....but if he didn't give her any kind of notice that she was parking in a restricted area, then that's NO reason to do that...He is a judge and he's supposed to ENFORCE and UPHOLD the law to it's fullest extent.

I also agree that flattening the tires is cheaper for the "victim" then having it towed - HOWEVER, the law is the law and Judge Nally, of all people, should know it!! I don't care if she's parked on his front porch - the appropriate action is to contact the police and have them handle the situation. They will have it towed and/or give her a ticket or a written warning that there's record of. He punishes people everyday for not following the laws that are set - then walks out and does the exact same thing. How can anyone in his courtroom (staff, lawyers, criminals, victims) respect his rulings in the future?

He should have just left a note threatening to tow the car the next time she parked there. That probably would have taken care of it.

As far as people saying a civilian would get put in jail for this offense.....PLEASE. They don't even put drug dealers in jail. I doubt that anyone else would get jail time for letting the air out of someone's tire.

He didn't call 'John Law'? Maybe this area, although displaying a RESERVED sign, is not an enforcable 'NO PARKING' area. They do exzist.

Fire Lanes, blocking of fire hydrants, designated handicap parking only, designated tow-away zones (areas that would otherwise impede traffic flow) etc. are what is enforcable. Just because someone has displayed a designated or reserved parking only sign, does not mean it is legally enforcable. Sounds like the judge was not happy with someone parking where he felt his tenure as the judge warranted him to, and in reality, he probably knew he could not legally have the car ticketed or towed. Interesting he doesn't say he ever left a note as a 1st warning. He just flattens tires.

Sounds to me like the judge is admitting to vigilante justice. You know, the 'we can settle tings ourselves and not get the police involved' attitude. Because that is exactly what he did, and I am sure he will be the first to tell the TV cameras that he doesn't have any more rights than you or I. So he is telling us he is condoning vigilante justice for all of us.

Please explain to me what Law was broken? Some are saying it is destruction of property!.....What was destroyed????

Basically its a simple solution to a very annoying problem! The problem being, some people think they can park where ever or how ever they want! Ignoring "No Parking" signs,
taking up 2 parking spaces, or my favorite, parking in the fire lane just outside the front door of the grocery store. These people are just plain lazy!!!! This woman ignored a sign, plain and simple. She is the law breaker. I dont remember seeing any signs that said "No Deflating Tires". I dont buy her excuse. I have been to the court house. The proper signage is posted.
As far as me putting my tag number on here!
LMAO, I dont ignoring no parking signs! if someone lets the air out of my tire,and I dont catch them, then I will just air it back up....its not hard!

Oh, so now we need a sign tell us we can't deflate tires? C'mon, Craig!

Craig must carry an air compressor in his car at all times for such occassions. He obviously doesn't mind when someone deflates his tire and he must dig out that compressor, hook it up and wait 10 minutes for the tire to fully inflate...because it's not hard.

What's sad is the amount of manpower and effort that will be expended investigating this. In the end, it is doubtful neither will be cited.

Hey, Craig. You stated, "...and I don't catch them,..."

What happens if you do catch them?

Dont you recognize sarcasim when you read it?????
Actually i dont carry a compressor with me. So if someone deflates my tire, I would have to put the spare on and take the deflated tire to a nearby gas station and spend a whole .50 cents to put air in it.
My initial point was that if I am parked in a no parking zone or a reserved spot and I arrive at my vehicle to find one of my tires deflated, It would be alot less painfull to air that tire up then to pay a towing charge.

Ok, maybe not. But at the very least this man has some obvious anger/substance abuse issues which need to be addressed.

My reccomendation is 18 months in C.C.D.C. to let him think about taking the law into his own hands. We cannot afford citizens taking the law into their own hands in this fine county of ours.

I also suggest 1 year each of substance abuse and anger management training, to reeducate this man about the consequences of his actions. No man would soberly commit such a haneous act without serious anger issues at the heart of it.

In conclusion, throw the book at this a**hole with total disregard to justice or common sense, just like he has done to everyone who stepped in his courtroom for years. Let's have some poetic justice.

JUSTICE FOR ALL
Judge Nalley stands above the Laws of this Land, in and out of the courts. His behavior as a high Judge is very unprofessional and has been for many years. Nalley is known for giving very cruel, harsh punishments outside the stated guidelines and there is proof of this. Nalley can do anything and nothing will become of it for there are "those" who stand behind his behavior 100% even when he is in the wrong. Judge Nalley should be punished for his wrongful acts just as he does to others. He should receive the same punishment for his wrong doing regardless of this job title. Don't sweep this under the carpet or just give him a smack on the wrist. Give Judge Nalley the same punishment as he would give us, " A KICK IN THE A** ".
