Marijuana and Smoking Device Discovered During Traffic Stop

On August 5, at 3:30 p.m., Mark Yount Bottorf, 51, of Hollywood was arrested by Cpl. J. L. Linger for Possession of Marijuana and Possession of CDS Paraphernalia. 

Cpl. Linger initiated the traffic stop on Three Notch Road at Friendship School Road in Mechanicsville on a green Ford F-150 for exceeding the posted speed limit.  Upon contact with Mr. Bottorf, a moderate odor of burnt Marijuana was emitting from the vehicle.  Mr. Bottorf was found to be in possession of numerous baggies of Marijuana seeds and Marijuana stems.  A metal CDS smoking device was also found in the vehicle. 

Mr. Bottorf was placed under arrest and transported to the St. Mary’s County Detention Center where he was held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.
