Verbal Altercation Turns Violent

On August 8, deputies responded to a disturbance complaint at Jumping Jacks Restaurant in Mechanicsville.

Investigation revealed the victim was in a verbal altercation, which escalated into a physical assault when Husan NMN Sarikaya, 53 of Lusby, Maryland struck the victim several times in the face with his hand. A third party attempted to intervene and was struck by Sarikaya.

Mr. Sarikaya was arrested and charged with two counts of second-degree assault.
