Mattawoman Middle School’s new principal, Douglass Dolan, is hosting a meet and greet night for Mattawoman parents, students and community members August 12, 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., at the school. Dolan will welcome more than 1,000 students on Aug. 24 and set up the meet and greet to meet parents and students and other members of the Mattawoman community. Superintendent James E. Richmond announced Dolan’s appointment as acting principal last week. Dolan’s appointment must be approved by the Board of Education, which meets Aug. 11. Dolan moves to Mattawoman from Theodore G. Davis Middle School, where he has served as a vice principal for the past two years. Dolan began his career in education in 1995 as a social studies teacher at Benjamin Stoddert Middle School in Prince George's County. He transferred after one year to Friendly High School, where he taught social studies and later served as an assistant principal during his 11 years at the school. |
